Cara is the co-founder of Made For and is recognised as an impactful emerging designer in the industry. With her work on large-scale projects across commercial, hospitality and residential channels, she has gained an understanding of design beyond its simplest forms, managing both timeline and budget when executing a vision to its full potential. Cara is a true client-centric designer, always seeking the best outcome both practically and aesthetically.
Cara enjoys the dual nature of design, as both a logical and creative pursuit. Her knack for problem solving coupled with her scrupulous eye makes her a formidable figurehead in her field. With a background in furniture design, Cara is most excited by the tangible details in the final stages of design: furniture and finishes. Cara delivers projects with clarity and is made for success.
Mitchell founded Made For with Cara in 2016. Growing up, Mitch’s father worked as a joiner and carpenter, and Mitch remembers much of his youth working alongside him. These early years on site gave way for a lifelong love of construction, and a passion for seeing projects evolve from their initial stages of development through to final execution.
Mitchell leads the commercial side of the business as a workplace strategist, with a firm belief that great spaces should be accessible to all Australians. Mitch’s aim is to distil down their process so as not to intimidate clients from seeking design consultation. His style is characterised by collaboration and a hands-on approach with clients. Mitch creates with purpose and is made for people.
David joined Made For as the Architectural Director in 2018. Although most of his work is in residential, he has led commercial and public projects in Melbourne, Queensland and overseas. During his time in London, he rubbed shoulders with the likes of architecture mogul Zaha Hadid. Dave guides his projects through all stages of design and is concerned with both the big picture and the material details of construction.
David is trained in carpentry, which has lent him an intimate understanding of timber construction and detailing. A compulsive innovator, David’s work is characterised by the use of natural and recycled materials. His process focuses on efficient construction principles and passive, sustainable design. David makes spaces that age gracefully and selects materials that develop character and patina over time. David designs with intent and is made for today.
